My grade 6 poem from the farewell!

So long and Farewell

Roses are red violets are blue

Grade 6 is over and elementary school too

One more day and you’re free for summer

We know you think this is a truly a bummer.

You wish you could in be grade 6 forever

Writing PAT’s, exams, papers, HOWEVER

You know you cant stay you simply must go

To new a school with teachers and students you don’t know

But take with you memories of room 14

Like jokes, laughs and kelvin saying “What do you mean?!”

Sounds like Ocean, Jazzy, Kamaya all laughing

Jarvis, Karim and Michael all joke cracking

Finn loudly talking and Goner sometimes late

While Kyle and Soloman, fight over tape

Madison Fatima Blake all working well

Eliza & Ella always with goofy stories to tell

Qiana and Alexa our master drawers

and Mr David always talking about Star Wars.

Sara so positive and happy wherever she goes

And finally Kaden who I crush in smash bros.

All jokes aside my students were great

This is a fact I cannot debate

Good luck in grade 7 always try your best

And never forget your time here at BHS

I have to say it was an absolute blast and I cannot wait to hear about all the amazing things students accomplish as they move into junior high!

It has truly been a pleasure teaching all of you.

Happy Tuesday June 25

Today was the grade 6 farewell and I have to say it was an absolute hit!
I greatly enjoyed bugging all the kids and giving out some funny awards.
Cake was had, some punch and lemonade too!
Overall it was a blast!

Tomorrow is our last day...Kids will be bringing everything home and I will be giving out a small present to all the students.

We will be cleaning out desks and stacking chairs on top of playing some games and having fun!

Pillars of Care Wednesday!

Today the students began their day with working on their Genius hour presentations. It was wonderful to see a few them in the middle block of the day! We saw some cool presentations including: What is Jupiter like? Why are wolves different from dogs? Why are memes so important to modern society?
We will continue them tomorrow!

In the afternoon the students did a mega room clean and organized their desks. Everything will be sent home tomorrow and Wednesday!

Happy Friday June 21!

Today was the last Friday of the school year! Time has flown by! 😁😭

Today... Students began their day with genius hour researching their personal projects. We will start presentations next week 👍

After genius hour the students watched a stop motion animated picture called: Kubo and the Two Strings. We will be talking about the important lessons from the movie on Monday!

Next we joined our buddies for the last buddies lesson doing Mathletics!

Finally we ended with gym playing our final round of dodgeball in grade six!

1. Today the students experienced the miracle of life video and the stages of child development. It is a beautiful thing and your children may have questions. We talked about respectful ways to ask questions and talk about human sexuality.

2. Sports Day today was a mega success! Kids had a blast eating burgers, playing games, eating freezies and playing outside. Way to go Beddington!

3. Patroller party tomorrow wahoo!

4. Get some rest tonight, eat well, come back tomorrow ready for a full day!

Sports day Wednesday (WEATHER PERMITTING)

Today the students began their day with their first lesson on Human Sexuality.

We started with a review of the ground rules before a game of anatomy bingo covering the different male and female body reproductive organs. This was the ground work for reviewing puberty. After reviewing puberty we discussed the differences between male sperm creation and female menstruation cycles.

My classroom has a question box where students can put any questions they have throughout lessons.


Tomorrow we will be talking about the stages of development.

After health, the students continued to work on their optical illusion artwork from the previous day.

In the afternoon students started their final project for the year on: GENIUS HOUR!

With genius hour students research and create a presentation on a project of personal interest. They can research whatever they want (teacher approved) before showcasing their final product as a booklet, powerpoint or video!

A report card with student marks will be sent home with report cards at the end of the year.

-We are also working on Volunteer tea art this week! I will post some pics to the blog :)

-Students will also be starting a personal research project in which they are going to research a topic of interest.

Students spent the majority of today writing their LA PAT part B exam. Students had to read 9 readings and answer 50 questions for the exam today.

Tomorrow is their second last PAT with 15 basic fact questions.

Study science tonight and over the weekend as it is the last exam!

Today the students wrote their 50 questions social studies test! Congrats students you make me proud!

Tomorrow we will be writing our math part B in which the students must solve concepts from the entire year in a multiple choice format.
Today we prepped by reviewing concepts all afternoon and doing a practice test. Students, if you want to do extra review go on mathletics! There is tons of great lessons, practice and instructions.

Get some rest tonight, eat well and come in ready for your next PAT!

Today the students began their day by covering and practicing our final concept! Statistics and Probability.  We have our PAT on Wednesday and there is a great deal of concepts being covered in the exam. Practice Mathletics, math antics and review old worksheets to prepare.

We spent the next block completing an LA PAT. Students are encouraged to read the question before reading the article and then skimming and scanning the reading for the best answer.

In the middle block students did a science review with Mr Mueller. Students did a socrative test and I want to the stress the fact that studying should be done for this test!

Finally we covered all the materials for Social before doing a practice quiz as a class. There is a a ton of resources to study with for this unit. Kahoots, notes, quest A+ are all awesome ways to study for the PAT tomorrow.
