Basic facts quiz tomo
This week:
Math: Fractions! Equivalent and improper fraction comparisons
Social: Provincial Government structure
Science: Properties of Air
LA: Descriptive writing
Today the students began their day by doing a quick review of basic facts in morning math. We will be applying these skills tomorrow for our basic facts test. After Morning Math we moved into drawing fractions as percents and decimals! They are all related: 50%=1/2=50/100=0.5=0.50!
After math we explored some descriptive writing specifically related to describing people. You can use your five senses to describe anything about somebody including their emotions.
In the afternoon we did a large catch up block with social as we covered the structure of provincial government. We broke down Alberta into constituencies to compare them to wards in our city. This helps us to understand the political parties in power within the legislative assembly.
In gym, students had the privilege of participating in Aussie rules football! A specialist came in and allowed the students to play several games related to the tough sport. The kids had a blast!
Have a wonderful evening and stay warm!
