We began our day with some practice for our basic facts quiz this Thursday. Our last test we had a class average of 83%...that is amazing! I am hoping we could push it up by even a percent this time :)

After basic facts practice we continued working on some increasing and decreasing patterns. I have encouraged students to take the book home each day to finish lessons and ensure they are caught up and practicing the exercises.

After math we finished chapter 1 & 2 of the Giver. We are analyzing this book for our novel study looking specifically at characters, settings, predictions and the plot. 

After LA we moved into using computers to study for provinical government unit test this coming Thursday.
We are using a quizzing website called Kahoots to study for the test. I absolutely encourage students to be studying outside of school for this upcoming test. 
Log into Kahoot (it is free), enter "provincial government" and complete some of the many tests on the site.

This week in science, the students will be starting a project describing the properties of flight and how creatures fly.

We finished off our day with a great session of Mission Impossible!
