Happy Wednesday Jan 23

Today the students had an absolute blast at the hangar flight museum!

We started out by heading into the classrooms to build three different principles of flight vehicles.

The first was a glider made of paper, straws, clay, skewers and glue. They have a surprising amount of control depending on the way the ailerons and rudder point!

Second was a parachute which the students made out of plastic sheets, string and a washer. Students had a great time dropping them off the second floor to see which parachute had the best slow fall.

Lastly the students build a mini helicopter using glue, paper, paperclips and an elastic. After winding them up the helicopters could fly for a few seconds!

After lunch we spent the afternoon learning about the principles of flight from actual pilots and explored several different plains and engines.

Great day :)

Also, tomorrow there will be a presentation from GP Vanier at 1:00 to showcase where students have the option to go for junior high! Crazy to think they grow up so fast!

Have a nice evening!
