Today the students began their day by practicing for a long block in the music room for our upcoming winter concert. Cannot wait to hear all the amazing songs they will be playing.

In the middle block of the day the students were able to participate in a fantastic inquiry based social studies lessons. Students first brainstormed what they have learned in our provincial government unit. Next, the students were able to create questions about anything they wanted learn more about related to provincial government! Some of the questions included:

  • What are the responsibilities of the provincial government?
  • Why is the mace important?
  • What do governments spend taxes on?
  • How many trees does it take to make all the ballots for elections?
Amazing question skills were displayed from the students.

Next students were given time to research their questions and transform their findings into a google doc. This was then used to build a powerpoint to show the class!

In the afternoon students were able to spend some time decorating bags for the SADD (Students against drinking and driving) liquor bag competition. The bags are due Monday and if chosen can win the students cash prizes!

Students finished off the day with a science experiment that analyzed the properties of air!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
