Happy Monday Oct 29!
Hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Reminders:
Poetry Anthology due Friday
Swimming for two more days.
Social local gov test next Friday Nov 9
Orange and black shirt day Wednesday

Today the students began their day a bit different then our usual schedule. Due to swimming and when we have our EA we chose to do Social first.

In social we learned about the importance and function of a school board within a local government. This discussion lead us into the discussion of democracy! Democracy is the core of all our units in social this year. Government for the people!
Think FREJ Freedom, Representation, Equity, Justice.

After social, students were given time to work on their poetry anthologies! The expectation is for students to be done 6-8 poems by the end of today so that they could begin working on good copies tomorrow. I hope to see all poems finished when students come into school tomorrow.

After LA, students applied their knowledge of computation to decimals with some decimal multiplication! The nice thing is...There is no difference in the computation. The decimal shifting is the only part that changes! Remember: shift the decimal right until the number becomes whole...then shift it back the same number of times in the final product.

The students continued to have a wonderful time in swimming. Two more days left!

Finally we finished off the day with a big long awaited desk clean! Hooray!

Have a nice evening!
Mr Lancee
